From Pat Buchanan to Barack Obama

This is a great editorial I received, which was written by Pat Buchanan and addresses some race issues that are long overdue to be looked at. It really is nice to finally see this perspective in the mainstream:

BUCHANAN TO OBAMA

By Patrick J. Buchanan

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America . Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to... This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:

First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.

Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ' 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks -- with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas -- to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.

We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude??

Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona and Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids. Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America ? Is it really white America 's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?

Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?

As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?

Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?

We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.

Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.

The Ides of Socialism

It looks like tomorrow will be the day that Obama will sign into law his first major piece of legislation which, unless you've been living under a rock, already know this is the economic "spendulus" plan.

While the country has been bowing at his feet in worship, and children have been pledging allegiance to his enlarged photograph (see this article for that story), Congress and the administration in the White House have pushed in front of your noses the first of what I predict will be several bills aimed at putting the government in control of everything possible, and doing so with YOUR assets.  Don't let the $400 per individual tax cut (that's $8 a month for those of you without a calculator) fool you - that won't last long.  Soon your net income will begin taking increasingly larger hits as the government puts its fat hands into everything possible.

I saw the clip below on You Tube.  It is of Dave Ramsey going a little crazy on a reporter at MSNBC regarding the lies he told on the air.  This reporter used college athletics as an example, and tied the tax break that one receives for donating money to this type of organization as a government subsidy.  It reminded me of the pillars of socialism and how we are seeing these develop in a very methodical manner right before our eyes.  This is more than a year old, but the underlying message here has not changed:

Get ready to eat bacon...

Okay, let's get back to the President's "spendulus" bill.

President Obama has begun a media and town hall meeting blitz to boost support for the nearly $1 trillion spending package that has been proposed in Congress.  My first reaction is this: he's already won the election, so why does he need to work so hard to get approval when it is likely the bill will pass in it's almost current form?  The answer is simple - Obama is trying to push through what will probably be one of the pivotal bills in his Presidency, one that will define a good portion of the debate on the campaign trail.  He will tell you that he has the support of a majority of Americans, but I just don't think that's true.

He's really out on the campaign trail again because he knows he doesn't have the support, and pushing through this bill without it could be detrimental to his chances for reelection.  According to an AP Poll that the White House quotes (which can be found in this article), the stimulus plan has the support of 67% of Americans.  The overall approval rating of the democrats in Congress was 48%, and of the Republicans in Congress - 31%.  I don't think these numbers are entirely true and here's why:  According to this report from Rasmussen, who is arguably the most middle of the road politically when it comes to polling, reports that only 15% of Americans support a stimulus bill that contains spending only, and 45% support would support a stimulus bill with no new spending and tax cuts only.  The numbers in support of the stimulus plan continue to drop.  In another report by Rasmussen, only 37% are vocal in their support of the stimulus, while 43% are against it.  There is an undecided group of about 20%.

In a nutshell, Obama is only pushing this so hard because he knows it is crap, and can't bring himself to denounce it, and denounce his party.  The numbers could be drastically different, and he could prove he is a drastically different President by vetoing this bill when it hits his desk, and promising only to pass legislation that includes tax cuts, and a minimal amount of infrastructure spending, and funds to develop a "bad bank."  By not doing this, he is only doing what he blames everyone else for doing - playing politics as usual.  He spent so much time talking about "bipartisan" legislation on the campaign trail, but Nazi Pelosi and Hairy Reid have gotten the face time and the pull for their pet projects and this doesn't seem to be letting up.

Let me be clear though, and mark my words.  Even though I am touching on the subject of the stimulus package, and even though I have swung this around on Obama politically, I am absolutely against any kind of stimulus spending plan to try and help the economy.  Mark my words, with a spending plan like the one that is being proposed, the economy will not improve.  Remember that I said that because in about six months everyone is going to wonder what happened.  Roosevelt proved that throwing money at the economy doesn't work.  George W. Bush kind of proved that, although it was more of an asset repo type of plan.  Obama is about to prove this again.  The only thing that will provide a boost in this economy, aside from sitting back and letting the free market work, is a drop in income taxes.  Not just personal income taxes, but corporate income taxes, capitol gains taxes, estate taxes, trade and other specialty taxes.  The tax system needs to let out the floodwaters for a while, then reorganize to make it more fair on everyone.

I will close with this.  I was listening to Obama address a crowd in Illinois this morning as he was attempting to garner support for the stimulus.  He addressed tax cuts and stated that people in low income families will use the tax cuts for things that they need, like a coat for a child or repairs for the car; the wealthy will take the tax cut and put it away for a rainy day.  "This is not what we need," he says, "what we need is to get this money rolling back out into the economy.  We need people to spend to help create jobs."

Here is what I gathered from this - Obama has a pure hatred for anyone he defines as wealthy.  Obama has the common sense of a rock when he can't realize that people who are wealthy didn't become that way on accident.  They are wealthy, and now they spend a little more because they saved for rainy days.  If he thinks for a second that a low income family is going to buy a coat or repair cars with money from a tax cut, he is crazy.  What they are going to do, depending on the family, is put it toward fixed operating expenses because they can't already make ends meet, or they will have a new LCD TV in their living room in an instant (or cell phone, designer clothes, you get the point).

Take a look around you some time.  Look at the people who live in a house that barely stands and it will always have a satellite dish on the front.  Look at the people whose cars look so bad and sound like they won't make it another ten feet, it will always have one hell of a stereo system.  Look at the clothes people wear - the ones whose clothes are literally falling apart, will always have a cell phone in their pocket.  People do not understand priorities, they do not understand savings, and they do not understand living within their means.  If they did, we would not be in this position economically today - guaranteed.

2nd Amendment Woes

This is the last one of the day, and is arguably one of the most important ones we should be paying attention to.

Somehow I missed this, but House Representative Bobby Rush (D-Ill 1) sponsored a bill entitled "H.R. 45 Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009."

Here is the commentary I received on this bill today (and no, this didn't come from Fox News!!):

Here they come, ready or not. Feel the water getting warmer?

Are you ready for the House Bill titled 'HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009'. It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental and physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and any ownership changes even if a private sale. Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms. This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by soon to be Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Will we the citizenry be as lucky this time?

Pass this on to everyone who believes in strict Constitutionalism and remember that laws only apply to those who obey them. Criminals by definition and nature do not abide by laws. New laws and restrictions only apply to the law abiding citizen and are not written with the criminal in mind. With guns, it is not about having laws on the books to prosecute individuals, it is about taking guns away from the people so that no one has them in the first place. One last item to note, when assuming power and creating a facist state, Hitler was a proponent of strong gun laws because a disarmed populace was much easier to control than an armed one. The kings of old also outlawed weapons of any kind in any region that they conquered to quell the ability of the citizens to uprise against them.

The Founding Fathers of this nation understood all of the above and because of this they included the second amendment in the constitution. In fact, they knew that at some point in every society's life span that the need for the population to arise came about. To this end they made the right to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical state an absolute right that could not be revoked. They did this because the first thing tyrants and despots do is to remove a population's right to defend themselves When this is done, the tyrants have no problem with the destruction of society as we know it.

Send this on to all true patriots! Protect your Second Amendment!

The following is a summary of the bill as provided by the Congressional Research Service. If you read the whole bill, you'll find it will effectively preclude the ownership of ANY firearms by law-abiding people unless licensed by the Attorney General. How long do you think THAT would take??
Congressional Research Service Summary
The following summary was written by the Congressional Research Service, a well-respected nonpartisan arm of the Library of Congress. GovTrack did not write and has no control over these summaries.

Authorizes the Attorney General to certify state firearm licensing or record of sale systems.
Folks - this is just the start.  It is my right to own a gun, and any fool with half a brain will realize that a criminal is going to do whatever they want regardless of the law.  This type of legislation is pointless, a waste of time, and infringes on my privacy.  I just purchased a new gun the other day in a private party transaction.  No background check, no registration.  The government doesn't know that I own it, and they don't need to.  I've got a carry permit, so they know that I will legally carry a weapon, but this is where it should end.

I feel so strongly about my 2nd Amendment rights that this will be a key tone on this blog during the Obama presidency.  I'm stockpiling ammunition currently for all of my guns.  I generally purchase a box or two per week of each caliber that I own because I fear this will be the easiest thing for them to tax and drive up first.

I've posted a widget on the right side of the blog that will help you keep up on the status of this bill.  Go to the House and Senate website now, let your representative and senators know of your distaste for this kind of thing.  Remind them that you voted for them, and that you will vote against them if they decide not to represent you.  We have to take this country back.

Finally...

This report by Fox News quotes the Homeland Security Secretary as wanting to eliminate criminal illegal immigrants.

The acknowledgement that they are a nuisance is a start, but it doesn't go all the way.  I've written and will continue to write about illegal immigration, but I had to get to this one.

One thing in particular to note about her words.  She wants to get rid of illegal aliens who are criminals.  Presumably she means those that have committed a crime and have found themselves incarcerated and living off a "cot and 3 hots," at taxpayer expense.  I've got a question for her, though - incarcerated or not, isn't anyone who is in this country illegally a criminal?  If it is illegal for them to be in this country then they are, plain and simple.  If you disagree with me, then you better have one heck of an argument to support your position.  Unless we have a different dictionary, the definition of criminal covers all crimes, and illegally crossing our borders qualifies.

Rush Limbaugh Petition

I will make this one quick.

Did anyone know that the Democrats started a petition on their website against Rush Limbaugh?  The world is coming to an end and they are worried.  They are mad because Rush said he wanted Obama to fail.  I'm with him.  Please fail so I can use all of the "I told you so's" that I've been racking up.

I decided to have a little fun with this petition.  I went to the website, entered in my information, and used the comments section to agree with Rush and condemn the whole leftist movement.  This won't make any difference, but it made me feel better.  The funny thing about it is that they haven't fixed the petition to place a cookie on my web browser, or capture my IP address in an effort to only allow me to sign once, so I just hit the back button where my words magically appear again, then hit send again.  I've done this about 200 times in the last 24 hours.  Oh, the joys of the internet.

Try it for yourself:
